Description

My AP1600AE mount with my C14 Edge HD setup is now starting to really click and just work.  It's what we all strive for as when the setups work we can then focus on our photography and not stress so much on the equipment.  I was looking to shoot M27, which I will post soon but M27 was not up until just after midnight so I wanted a target for the first half of the evening.  I've photographed M82 before when imaging M81 with my Vixen.  The larger FOV allows M81 and M82 in the same frame.  With my big C14 I could get a nice close up of the Cigar Galaxy.  This was shot over a few nights to acquire enough subs for an adequate image.  Now imaging this by itself I can see that the next time I need plan a little better, hopefully have more clear skies so I can gather some Ha data long with my RGB.  This should enhance the faint red filaments that are so distinctive about this galaxy.
