Hi all, I am the host at Continuum, a non-profit video travel journal where in each episode we explore a new adjacent region of the sky. There is astrophotography indeed, science, poetry, litterature, and some personnal thoughts. If you haven't already, please have a look here to make up your mind : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgjPSEQfCVI&ab_channel=SpacetimePictures For the needs of the project, I'm looking to hire a developper for a piece of software to help in planning the capture of this journey through the sky as it goes. Put simply, see Continuum as a huge wandering mosaïc through both hemispheres. For this; I use two twin remote telescopes at 30° North (Morocco) and 30° South (Chile) to cover the whole sky, and enjoy both austral and boreal summers in succession, through the whole Milky Way. It is a decennal project, featuring already 36 episodes, and much more to come. Each episode has a set of coordinates, and a set field of view. What is missing in the toolbox is a way to input coordinates and display every episode as a rectangle on a 360° map (or equirectangular projection). This would allow to plan multiple episodes months even years in advance, when conditions allow. Existing software does not allow, or is impractical for this, so I think a tool would need to be tailored for this purpose. Maybe is there a dev lurking astrobin willing to work on this? Cheers, Laurent |
