Description

The superb seeing on the 20th of December (UT) continued into the morning and allowed me to get some good resolution on Mars.
This is a classic face of the planet with Olympus Mons on the f side of the Central Meridian, with its diamond shaped scarp and the Tharsis Montes a bit further south. The iconic Vallis Marineris is clearly visible to the lower right near the terminator and directly south of it is Solis Lacus, the Eye of Mars. There is considerable blue-white cloud to the south on the f-side of the Meridian and in an equatorial band extending from the terminator. This image of Mars in its Equatorial orientation with North pointing straight up and somewhat zoomed out.
The annotated RGB and IR 642nm BP images are included as Revisions B and C respectively
Also for fun I superimposed the RGB images and the WinJUPOS graphic morphing between the two, with annotations showing the major features visible. That can be seen as Revision D.
