Description

This old supernova remnant was on my list for a long time again. The raw images were captured at the end of March last year, when IC 443 was visible only for a few hours in the evening sky.

I used my duo narrowband filter, which caused a large halo around the star Tejat Prior. Fortunately this was easy to remove during image processing. The plan was to show the faint foothills of the supernova remnant, the S-shaped OIII structure inside the jellyfish (which has a very weak signal only) and the associated emission nebula Sharpless 249.
