Description

The waxing crescent Moon was close to Aldebaran, the Hyades, the Pleides, and Venus in the western sky around sunset April 18th-19th. This image was taken on April 19th about an hour after sunset. The waxing crescent moon was at 11% direct illumination and the remainder was nicely visible in Earthshine. Aldebaran and the Hyades are near the center of the frame. The Pleiades are to the lower right of the Moon near the right edge of the frame. Also to the lower right and close to the horizon is Venus partially obscured by a tree.

Image taken with a Nikon D750 and Nikon 28-300mm zoom lens at 52mm and F/4.5. Exposure was 3 sec at ISO-800.
