Description

This galaxy is nicknamed 'the Fireworks Galaxy' for its unusually active supernova explosions. Since 1917, ten supernova explosions have been observed in this galaxy; that is ten times more frequent than our Milky Way Galaxy.

This galaxy is also full of weird stuff, the most interesting one being a 'failed supernova' - a massive star that should have exploded at the end of its life but somehow decided to skip the explosion and directly turn into a black hole.

(The data was acquired from Telescopelive, which I processed using pixinsight and photoshop)
