Description

A two panel mosaic of the Heart Nebula - IC 1805
It's also known as the Running Dog Nebula.
The Hubble Palette was used ie SHO

Wikipedia - The Heart Nebula is an emission nebula, 7500 light years away from Earth and located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787. It displays glowing ionized hydrogen gas and darker dust lanes.  The shape of the nebula is driven by stellar winds from the hot stars in its core. The nebula also spans almost 2 degrees in the sky, covering an area four times that of the diameter of the full moon.

The most difficult part of the processing was getting the colors to match on the two panels.
The Oiii signal was very weak so it wasn't easy to pull the blue color out of the central areas of this nebula.

I wanted more red in the rim of the central area but my version of the SHO image didn't have enough red. I tried a ForaxX palette and the red showed well in the rim. I think that I will give it another go with a combination of SHO and ForaxX. Because of the two panel  mosaic there will be a lot of work ahead of me. When I have time I will go for it.
