Description

Nebula SH2-157, also known as the Lobster Claw Nebula, is an emission nebula located about 11,000 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia (between Cassiopeia and Cepheus). The red/orange parts of the nebula are made up of strong HII regions, dominated by the yellow part of the nebula, which is a very large HII region. The blue colored regions are mainly due to light emission from molecular oxygen.
