Description

IC5146 is a combination of emission nebula and dark nebula, located in Cygnus with an apparent magnitude of about 7.5. This nebula is somewhat visible using a binocular, but best viewed with large aperture telescopes. The shape of this nebula gives its name the Coccon nebula, but my astronomy friends all agree that it looks more like a giant cosmotic haemorrhoid...... the picture is composed of RGBHa data acquired by @blackrig using 10" reflectory, had to reduce the ratio of Ha as it was too strong. The background has some Ha stripes as well.
