Description

M81 and M82 are a pair of Messier galaxies in the constellation of Ursa Major, with apparent magnitudes of about 6.8 and 8.2, they are both among the brightest galaxies in the sky, easily visible with small binoculars. This target is particularly favorable for Ha imaging, as M81 contains scattered Ha flowers while M82 is famous for its gigantic Ha filaments that stretch out up to a hundred thousand lightyears. This image contains a deep Ha exposure of 85 hours, enabling the visualization of prominent Ha signals in both M81 and M82, and in the closeby galaxy NGC 3077. Subframes were taken with TOA 130 owned by Dawamiao (Gong Miao, does not have AB account), operated by Lingluanqin (Feng Xin, does not have AB account), and processed by me. Total LRGBHa exposure about 146 hours.
