Description

This object is a rarely imaged lenticular galaxy located 150 million light years away in the constellation of Aquarius at a latitude of -22 degrees. The galaxy spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 130,000 light years.

So why would I image such an uninteresting lenticular galaxy? Good question. Well, some detailed images of this object show very interesting star streams wrapping around this galaxy. I love star streams and I thought it would be fun to try to image them here.

But alas, like several of my recent attempts to image faint interesting phenomena, I failed. I could not bring out any interesting star streams on this object. The streams are there very faintly if you know where to look, but they don't show up as I hoped they would. Perhaps they will show up better if I am able to add to these subs over the next few seasons.
