Description

Here's a section of the North America Nebula in HaRGB. If you locate the "Gulf of Mexico" above the Cygnus Wall, this FOV would be the southeastern US north of Florida. The target shows fascinating dark lanes and blotches in a rich Ha region. The FOV centers roughly on the star SAO 50296; the bright star upper right is SAO 50298, visible magnitude 5.55, a yellow-orange KOIII:Fe-0.5 giant about 10.6x the Sun's diameter.

This was my first try at a couple different procedures. [1] I shot 50s RGB subs instead of my standard 300s, which meant a huge number of subs to process/stack. And [2] I used the NBRGBCombination script in PixInsight. Always room for improvement, but I am pretty happy with this experiment.
