I recently went from nvidia gpu to amd and I know that some pixinsight script uses CUDA to speed up ai processes like blurxterminator, starXterminator etc.
Is it possible to use my old Nvidia gpu in slot 2 in my motherboard so it can be used when Cuda is required?

The reason I use AMD is because I play alot of games and its better for my wallet, so I will not sell it, so dont suggest that ;)

It is possible. Many of us currently have an Intel and either AMD or NVidia GPU already co-existing and some have an onboard AMD with an NVidia card (far more rare but out there). Give it a shot.

There are a lot of articles on the web that say you can use an AMD card in slot 1 for your graphics and run CUDA/tensorflow on an NVidia card in slot 2 (at least in Windows).  I guess one consideration is does your power supply have enough connectors and grunt to be able to support that?

You can try but you have issues with graphics drivers.

If you are after the cuda GPU acceleration then stick with Nvidia

Intel only makes CPUs. Not GPUs. They do have integrated graphics but if you use a separate GPU the mobo will turn off the integrated graphics.

This is not true on either point. Intel has released a series of modern discrete video cards and it is perfectly possible to use the onboard Intel graphics to support more monitors than your discrète card can. I haven’t done this in any form of 3D modes but it certainly does not disable itself when a discrete cards is used in all cases.

Not saying it can't be done. Just not recommended.  Yes, Intel has it's new GPUs.

You definitely will have driver conflicts with both Nvidia and amd graphic drivers both installed.

UPDATE: I tried installing my old nvidia card again in PCEI slot 2 and it WORKS!

All AI programs in pixinsight now uses CUDA on my nvidia card, and my gaming uses AMD graphics =)
