Hello to any and all, I'm about to get into my 1.9 hyperstar for the first serious adventure since owning it for several years now. What do you think is the best light pollution filter for the HS 8 v4? I have the ZWO ASI2600MC with Optolong L-Pro and L-Enhance already in my kit bag. thank you Charles |

Hi Charles, I have the same setup; HD8, Hyperstar 8v4 and ASI2600MC Pro. My home area where I mostly image with the Hyperstar is Bortle 6 with some really nasty gradients from high pressure sodium lighting. I have used the L-Pro with good success. The color balance is well behaved. However, I have had some reflection halos around really bright stars such as Altair, but that might happen even without the filter. You didn't ask this, but I also use the IDAS NBZ dual bandpass filter (Ha-OIII) with very good results. I just posted 2 images, one with the L-Pro and one with the IDAS if you would like to see examples. Let me know how your experience works out! Clear skies, Darrell DuBose |

Thanks a lot Darrell. I will take a good look at those images. I already have the L-Pro. I will give that one a try. I am not sure if I have tried it yet. I thought maybe I would ask around to see if those F2 light pollution filters were really needed for Hyperstar. Maybe not it seems. Thanks again. Charles |
