Hello there everyone, how are you doing?
So, I'm new here and I wanted to start sharing some images, but since I'm mostly a landscape astrophotographer, I'm not sure if it's OK to share those, I'm assuming it should be OK, but let me know.

I'm a wedding photographer and also a director, so, I have a very strong influence from cinema and I try to capture and evoke those feelings in my images and videos.
For example:

DSC00228.jpg

DSC08852-Pano.jpg

Not really astro, but as my name is Astrophotography and Coffee, I believe is a must to share this beautiful moment before the night:

Perfil nubes.jpg

And lastly, my most complex panorama so far, combining the winter and summer arc of the milky way, two weeks ago in the border between France and Italy, which, by the way, I'm trying to draw the asterism of the constellations on top of it, can anyone give a hand with that?

Hope you guys like them

In my opinion, it is more than okay to share these here! These are wonderful and I wish we had more landscape astrophotographers using this site.

Continuum - Laurent Lucas:
That fourth one is amazing!

*** Thanks Lucas, that was pure luck honestly.
I arrived to that lake and then it just started to get cloudy, and all of the sudden, it opened. I was there, sitting still for like a minute or something, shooting one photo after photo and this one was the star for sure***.

*** Well, count me in Drew hahaha.
I'm starting to get serious with deepsky astrophotography, mainly because I didn't have equipment per se, I was using the telescopes from the observatory where I used to teach, so, I normally was just taking my camera, but now, I need to invest to continue with that, so, we'll see. But before that, I'll post for sure some landscape, I have tons of it***

Hey Pablo,

I also do landscape photography and have been sharing my photos here alongside deep space astrophotography - no one has complained and I interpret "astrophotography" as a genre pretty loosely. Milky way / aurora images are often given recognition - so I wouldn't be shy about sharing. Great photos by the way - I followed you.

I think it is just fine and appreciate seeing them. I have only done a few landscape astro images - really just dabbling, but it is nice to see well done landscape astro. I would point out that there have been several IOTD that are landscape so clearly it is an accepted and appreciated thing on Astrobin even though it is a smaller perchance of the total.

Awesome images, Pablo! Yes, landscape images where the focus is on celestial bodies (very commonly the milky way) are very welcome on AstroBin.

There is an Landscape image category too (I should rename it to Landscape/nightscape). As it's quite recent, not all of the pictures are tagged correctly, and you can find them in the search engine:

[Search link]

I have plans to make AstroBin more interesting both for nightscape photographers and perhaps even visual astronomers in the future (targeting early next year)!

If you want your image properly accessible by the community, please consider uploading them as image posts instead of a forum post, where they'll get just get lost after a while.

You'll find the upload button on the top-right corner of the page, in the header.

There is a fairly small but engaged visual astro-sketchers community, I guess they would gladly share their work on AB.

Drawings/sketches are supported too and have their own category! In the future I will reorg the front page and upload page so that these things can be more clear, and see if I can add more features that make AstroBin more appealing to them as well!

Will do Salvatore, thanks for the info.
And thanks for the kind words. It's been a pretty nice welcome here in the forums, it makes me feel like when I was 17 searching in some weird and strange places to get along with people hahaha.
It can't hurt at the end, I met my wife in a U2 forum when I was 18...
Anyway, one quick question, I wanted to have some asterisms drawn into my landscape images, is there a way to do this automatically? I can do it manually, but, asking just in case.

Thanks again everybody.

AstroBin will plate-solve your images, more info here:
https://welcome.astrobin.com/features/astrometry-tools

Please note, tho, that landscape images have a much lower success rate because the presence of terrestrial objects, field distortion, sheer amount of stars make it more unlikely to get a successful solution.

I'm also working on the ability to draw custom shapes with notes manually to, and I expect that to land in a few weeks.

Maybe if I just upload the sky and then use later on as a layer with the ground? Would that work better?
I'm very intrigued about it, it's not that I need a 280mpx panorama like I normally do, I just need the plates to "spread the word", spread, communicate information about constellations in a friendly way to my audience.

Unfortunately the only way is to try. Would you like a free trial for a week?
