Description

I have been trying to collect high resolution Ha data with the C11Edge for this project for weeks.  I whittled the data down to the best 8.5 hours or so with a FWHM of about 2.65--not really what I had in mind, but I can image Ha for a single project only for so long.  As an experiment, I decided to use OIII and SII data collected 5 years ago with a 4" refractor (np101is) and Ha from the C11Edge.  Unfortunately, I only had a jpeg to work with, so I had to extract the OIII and SII in a non linear state and gave it a shot.  I registered all data to the Televue image, combined the extracted stacks and C11 Ha it into a SHO image and use the Ha as a luminance, then up-sampled back to the C11 scale.   After some palette adjustment, I was pleasantly surprised at the result.   As most detail is provided in the luminance, the only thing that the refractor data provided was chroma.  The JPEG is a rather poor image, but there is no changing it now..

My question is,  do you think it would be beneficial to collect OIII and SII data with the C11Edge, or am I not likely to see much of a difference?  I can still add Ha subs.  If I get a good night or two, I can reduce the FWHM to 1.9-2.0., which is about as good as I can manage at my location.  I probably should collect OIII and SII data with the C11.  It will make for an interesting comparison (but so man, and targets are beckoning, and my FSQ 106 is soon to arrive).
