Description

It is estimated that in ~5 billion years our Milky Way solar system will collide with this enormous barred galaxy called “Andromeda”.  This is a challenging astro target to photograph from southern skies as it is classified as a northern hemisphere target. It’s a bucket list astro image and while at the NSAS star party in Hunter Valley last weekend I managed to capture 3.5 hours of data to create this image. I hope to capture this one in the northern hemisphere one day and improve on this beautiful shot even more.
