Description
M31 – The Andromeda Galaxy
We had our first cold front pass through for the autumn which gave me my first night out for the season. The Winter DSOs are not up yet so I took a shot in the dark to find M31. After several adjustments, since I am not using a Go-To mount, I found my target. The temperature was a cool 48 F (3.3 C) and the seeing was average (3/5).
On advice from Niall MacNeill I change my ISO from 800 to 1600 and the results were better in my opinion. There are lots of great images of M31 lately and even though mine does not compare I am happy for my first night out. Since I haven’t been out for months I made the rookie mistake and did not clean the lens properly so please disregarded the smug.
