Description

Here is an image of the iconic Horsehead Nebula, a small dark nebula in the constellation Orion. It's particularly famous for its striking resemblance to a horse's head against the bright background of the emission nebula IC 434. The nebula's distinct shape is sculpted by the intense ultraviolet light from a nearby massive star, causing the gas to slowly erode away.In natural colour, the emission nebula has a stunning pink-red colour, but this image uses a unique pallet where hydrogen is mapped to blue, and sulfer is mapped to red. This artistic depiction highlights the different elements within the nebula and creates a stunning, blue-flaming scene.(The original data was acquired from Telescopelive, which I processed using Pixinsight and Photoshop).
