Description

Messier 92 is a class IV globular cluster in the Hercules constellation. It is about 27,000 light years from Earth. With an apparent magnitude of 6.3, M92 is one of the brightest globular clusters in the Milky Way. It is also one of the oldest, estimated to be 14.2 billion years old. The cluster was discovered by Johann Bode in 1777, four years before Messier added it to his catalog. M92 consists of approximately 300,000 stars.

Data for this image were collected in 2021 when I first started astrophotography. For some reason I never processed the data. I rediscovered it a few days ago and  was able to recover the darks but did not have flats for the session. This was also long before I knew I needed a UV/IR filter for my ZWO294MC, so the stars were pretty bloated before being rescued by BlurXterminator.
