I like shooting dim targets and long-term projects, so I picked this region in Perseus which is very dim and thus rarely photographed. This image is a heavy crop from the much larger field of view I get on the RedCat 51.

I'm really happy with how much resolution I can get out of deep integrations with the ASI294MM Pro in combination with the RedCat 51, I'm honestly surprised how well they work together.

The image itself is mainly based on 2x drizzles of the narrowband data, with an especially small value for the dropshrink for the deep Ha data (~0.3). This yields a very detailed image and at these long integration times there isn't much noise to speak of. The 20 minute subs help with this as well of course.

The other weapon in the arsenal is of course BlurX, especially with the new version 4 AI. This really helped bring out small details and made the stars look like they've been shot with much greater aperture than my puny 2 inch refractor.

Color is a combination of Foraxx and Chestnut SHO.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
