Description

The Pelican Nebula (IC5070.) in SHO with RGB stars.  This is my first round with the Player One Posiedon-M on the Edge HD 8.  I spent a night tweaking the tilt (i turned the wrong screw out of the box or I wouldn't have messed with it.) I got it pretty close, but I'm hoping to take another look at it.  The tolerances are so minute!  We're talking microns.  I then re-did my focus run on all the brand-new filters to determine offsets.  Fun night! Kinda...

About the Pelican... I never really thought about taking this one for some reason, but now I'm glad I did.  Another beautiful star-forming region in Cygnus, its lies about 1,800 light years away. The bright blue star is 57 Cygni and is much closer to us, at about 500 light years.

You can see a pillar/jets of gas known as HH 555 on the upper right.  Blowing out at hundreds of kilometers per second, it changes visibly over short periods of time (years), and It will only last a few thousand years, so you'd better take a look soon.

Funny looking bird.
