Description

M44, The Beehive Cluster or Praesepe ("Manger" in Latin) is one of the closest open clusters to us with Hipparcos placing the cluster at around 182pc distant. The cluster is just about visible to the naked eye as a faint haze in the constellation of Cancer.

This image also shows numerous small background galaxies - a few from the NGC/IC catalogues, but many from the PGC/LEDA catalogue (see the annotated version of the image).

Captured on 2nd, 3rd and 4th Feb 2020 from E-EYE.
