Description

This is a different version of the timelapse (negative colorized version) of the solar sunspot and prominence activity around AR3814 taken on the morning of September 5th, 2024. In my opinion, it shows and accentuates different areas that I personally find interesting.  The animation has been slowed down and this unfortunatly results in a larger file size. As shown there is a lot of activity around this sunspot and with this sunspot being so close to the edge of the sun, it allows a better look at the associated prominences. If you notice there is a small flare of short duration towards the end of the timelapse. The large magnetic plasma loops are on the order of 40,000 miles above the surface. The timelapse was imaged during 88 minutes using 72 individual frames that are then compressed into a 14 second animation. The seeing and transparency were average to above average.
