Description

SNR G65.3+5.7 is a faint supernova remnant in Cygnus. This is five nights of Ha and Oiii with five minute subs. The entire nebula area is about twelve times the the area of the moon in the sky. At 350 mm FL, I needed four overlapping panels to capture it all.

Besides a faint nebula signal, the dense star field made this a tough image to process. I removed the linear stars and processed them separately. Even with a light stretch, they still washed out the image when added. I ended up clipping some of the star data to get rid of the faintest star glow. Then I used PS to darken the background even more. I plan on adding two more nights of data when the sky clears.

With a mosaic of four panels from the ASI2600mm, this was a huge image. I reduced the size and compressed it a bit for display.
