Description

The Double Cluster in Perseus is two open clusters at an approximate distance of 7500 Light Years. The clusters are easily visible to the naked eye as a fuzzy patch of light between Perseus and Cassiopeia. The clusters are fairly young and contain many bright stars of spectral type A and B.

After spending another moonlit night fiddling with the frustrating task of collimating my RC8, I decided to give this bright target a shot. The image has some streaking of the corner stars which I cannot collimate out, so I have decided that the problem must be field curvature. Time will show if the newly ordered field flattener will correct the problem.
