Description

Caldwell 5 is a pretty close-by galaxy, at 7-11 million lightyears from Earth. However, it is obscured a lot by the dust from our own Milky Way. That is why the galaxy has the nickname 'Hidden Galaxy'. While the individual frames show only very faint detail, in the total 20h of exposure of this image, the galaxy comes out really nice. This image is recorded in LRGB. Adding Ha would probably emphasise the many star forming regions a bit more.
