Description

This big galaxy is an interesting beauty. It is huge, bigger than our own galaxy, and is known to have a supermassive black hole at its center. You can see swirls of dust and gas surrounding the black hole and jets of red hydrogen-alpha gas shooting out. The little dwarf galaxy is NGC 4248 with many more galaxies visible. Enhanced with H-alpha to bring out the jets near the center.
