Description

Now that I have finished my usual summer astro break, I worked on the NGC 7331 group of galaxies. NGC 7331 is the brightest galaxy approximately 40 million light years away. The other members of the group, NGC 7335, 7336, 7337 and 7340, are in a distance of approximately 300-350 million light years.

I am actually really surprised how pretty this galaxy is and I am glad that the field of view with my EHD 11 and ASI 2600 turns out to be almost perfect.

Imaging time was just close to 6.5 hours, split over three night between the 23 and 25th of August.

L 200 x 1 min
RGB 180 x 1 min.

Processing was standard LRGB with very modest use of BlurX for the luminance (in the linear stage). Final touches in Adobe LR and PS.

I hope you like it.

Volker
