Description

The Corona Australis Molecular Cloud

For the details, Wikipedia has an entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corona_Australis

This southern sky object rises just 33 degrees above my horizon, so this was imaged through two atmospheres of air thickness; I'm pleased with the result.

MaskedStretch vs. the HistogramTransformation stretch did a nice job of controlling star bloat, and I owe a thank you to Alan Van's short YouTube video at,

https://youtu.be/9Z0PbKzUfrE

that explained how to adjust it to best effect. (I don't speak Chinese but the video is short and easy to follow.)

Noise was controlled by the PI version of NoiseXTerminator, which worked really well in this case. The residual noise in the image is my preference.

I used one pass of Adam Block's star deemphasis method as coded into the EZ suite, but first edited its script in order to substitute StarNet v2 for StarNet, to eliminate the "window screen" block-ish distortions often seen when using the original StarNet. To edit the EZ script see this thread on CloudyNights:

Description: After jpeg conversion and uploading of the original, it looked a little greenish to me played back through my browser. I reloaded the jpeg into PI, ran SCNR, and re-saved it.
