Description

This is a transit of Io across Jupiter, captured with a small refractor (ZenithStar 61ii) and a Barlow (TeleVue Powermate 5x), captured during opposition. This is about an hour of the transit event.

For each panel:
  1. Capture about 3 minutes of 240p video at ~100 FPS and high gain (10ms frames, gain ~500)
  2. Stack top 10% of frames with 3x drizzle
  3. Wavelet sharpening
  4. Mild AI touchup
  5. Photoshop crop, color enhancement, and smart sharpening

In my image train, Jupiter is about 100 pixels wide prior to processing. The effective focal length is about 1800mm, at approximately f/30.
