Description

Continuing with the theme of returning to old projects that were never published, I revisited a project that I shelved and never published five years ago. With the aid of upgraded Pixinsight tools, WBPP, SPCC, and RC-Astro's "three Terminators", I was able to overcome some of the earlier challenges I had with this data.

Messier 63, nicknamed the Sunflower Galaxy is a flocculent spiral galaxy. Flocculent spiral galaxies do not have well defined spiral arms. Instead, they appear to have many discontinuous arms. Located in the constellation Canes Venatici, M 63 is estimated to be 29 million light years from our planet.
