Description

Well, probably the most disappointing image I made so far :-(

First off, I feel like I am noticing more and more coma on my field of view with my rafractor bought in august 2020. I did not pay enough attention to that when receiving it - but the default was there, though I did not really notice it since it was hidden by less accurate guiding (I switched from Skyduider to CEM70 with an off axis guider), and I was making lots of narrowband images. Now that I am doing more LRGB images, I can only see it !

Then, I noticed the color of some of the streetlamps near my garden changed from yellowish to white... I am afraid they installed LED. That could explain why after 3 hours of Luminance, the image was so "noisy" that I had to use a MultiMedianTransform tool to keep only the stars and get rid of those disgusting patterns I had... I am afraid this will increase my minimum time on each target to get some nicer backgrounds, or I will have to move a few kilometers away from Paris every time I want to image...

Anyway, this image required a lot of Pixinsight and Photoshop processes to "hide" the most I could the flaws of my acquisition process !

But hopefully, the magic of seeing this planetary nebula so close to us (~2300 ly) will remain.
