Description

This was not a planned picture, but a combination of two test sequences which I shot over 2 months. In between I changed the imaging train, unfortunately resulting in a 90° rotation of the FOV and thus a highly cropped image.
The second imaging session was heavily affected by wind gusts, so I initially thought the data is garbage, see animation of the L subframes:

However the nebulosity looked promising, so I made an attempt to process the data.
Stacking could eliminate most of the wind artifacts, but the stars remained disturbed. Luckily, SXT could remove the stars cleanly so I could combine the starless data and use the stars from the first session for the final image.
As this image is not more than an experiment, I also chose the spectral type of the hot blue giant stars as white reference in SPCC, thus the image has not the typical blue color cast. Despite all the obstacles, I am quite satisfied with the result.

Please note that a lot of galaxies can be seen through the dust in the background.

I hope you like it as well and many thanks for stopping by!
