I started with AP just before I retired (August of 2018) with my unmodified dslr and unguided basic GEM mount.
My goal was just to enjoy the hobby and capture modest images of the beauty above.
I was amazed by the results (most of them were very crude) and got bitten by the bug!
I image with my ASI533MC on either a 61mm or 102mm APO and HEQ5 mount.
I’m in my later 60’s, married 40 years and have two adult children and one grandson and a granddaughter on the way..
I have many other things to spend my money on besides AP, but I have a nice basic setup and enjoy getting out with it very much in my light pollution and tree lined backyard. It’s my astronomy haven!

Astrophotography, photography, my grandson, my dog and best bud Jack.
