I grew up with a strong curiosity for the origin of life and space. I discovered the observational astronomy through the telescope of my friend Jose Lull at the age of 11. I still remember Saturn through his 60 mm refractor as the best picture I have ever seen. As I was listening to my friend long dissertations about astronomy we founded the first amateur astronomical society in town, Gandia (Spain). Later on, my passion for biology took the foreground and a sense of service directed me towards medicine studies. I remember reading a book about the HIV virus discovery and thinking about combining the work of a physician with biochemical research, at the same time I was reading about the strong force in an old Scientific American magazine that I bough at a second hand market. I was not happy at the faculty of medicine. I missed science and when I finished the 6 years I started the degree of biochemistry and at the same time I was doing my residency time at the hospital. Then I won a prestigious contract of Instituto Carlos III and later on a Gates Cambridge Trust scholarship. I went to Cambridge and I think it was my happiest time. Then I had a daughter, Adriana, and we decided to move to Switzerland where I resumed my work as an independent GP and my passion for astronomy reborn looking at the night sky above 2000 meters. Since 2017 I have been studying and practicing astrophotography with a renewed passion.
