I am Federico, a 37-year-old Critical Care Physician from Northern Italy. Parallel to my medical career, I am deeply invested in astrophotography.

My initial steps into this field began with capturing the Milky Way in the mountainous regions along the Italy-Swiss border. The acquisition of a star tracker soon followed, enhancing my imaging capabilities with a Sony mirrorless camera.

In 2020, I integrated an AZ-GTI mount into my setup and utilized the N.I.N.A software for automated imaging sequences. Despite the light pollution challenges of a Bortle 8 zone on the outskirts of Milan, my passion remained steadfast. I added a ZWO ASI 533MC PRO telescope and a cooled CMOS camera to my arsenal a year later. In 2023, my technical equipment was further expanded by purchasing a ZWO AM5 harmonic mount.

To refine my skills, I have been following tutorials from experts in the field. My proficiency in image processing continues to evolve, enriched recently by datasets from Telescope Live.
