Description

The wind down here has been seriously tough, on this particular night it did ease, but the RMS readings on the guider were going nuts - but not compared to other nights before! How the scopes held their accuracy I do not know. I am really quite happy with this image, my only disappointment being that had I known that the fainter nebulosity was more over to the left, I would have repositioned things to bring more of it into the FOV. I miscalculated where the faint extra nebulosity was... I looked at the star maps but positioned the scope wrongly. Having had a further look, I now realise that this nebulosity on the left, is some faint stuff which is towards the cone nebula. So, I think it's worth pursuing this once more! Anyway, nevermind, I might try this region again and maybe do a mosaic - the only thing is that the weather here shows no signs of letting up! It was seriously odd looking seeing the FMA180 on the big Neq6 pro - sledgehammer to crack a nut, comes to mind... Thanks everyone. Simon
