Description

So last night it was clear.  It was also very, very cold.  I thought about not setting up, but I have this new camera, and have been excited to keep on testing it.  Because of where I am located, I don't have a good northern sky.  I have to wait for the fun targets to get over a big stalk of pine trees.  So I don't always get the time that I like on one target.  This is a target that I have imaged, as individual targets, but never in the same shot.  Others, including myself, seem to always focus on the Orion Nebula, and Flame, Horse Head.  Not an easy combo as one is very bright, and the others dim.  But I had never tried M78, with Flame, and Horse Head, until now.  Wasn't sure what I would get, but gave it a try.  I have to go back.  I was only able to get about 50 subs that were usable in this run.  It is still a little blotchy for my taste, but more data, subs, would help that.  Really cool to see all of these targets, and just a little bit of Barnards Loop, in the top left of this frame.  My gear was all covered with frost when I went out to bring it all in, and the deer were lying in the fresh snow watching me, saying, what are you doing out here crazy human!!  Enjoying the beautiful night sky!  Stay warm, and clear skies!
Mark
