Description

NGC3576 “Statue of Liberty 🗽 “

Finally got sometime last night to process this beauty. The data was captured a couple of weeks ago during the Easter Break.

This gorgeous nebula, drifts through the Sagittarius arm of our spiral Milky Way galaxy!

According to NASA...NGC 3576 itself is about 100 light-years across and 9,000 light-years away in the southern constellation of Carina, not far on the sky from the famous Eta Carinae Nebula. Near the left edge of the picture is NGC 3603, a much larger but more distant star forming region...

The dark dense clouds near the top are areas where new stars are being born.

With an apparent size of 20x15 arcmin and visual magnitud +10 it is very challenging for my small wide field refractor. So this has been cropped.
