Lagoon Nebula:

  • The Lagoon Nebula, also known as Messier 8, is a giant interstellar cloud in the constellation Sagittarius.
  • It shines due to the ionizing ultraviolet radiation of its embedded young stars.
  • The nebula is classified as an emission nebula and has an H II region.
  • It spans an area of the sky about three times the size of the full moon.
  • The Lagoon Nebula is approximately 5,200 light-years away from Earth.

Trifid Nebula:
  • The Trifid Nebula, also known as Messier 20, is an H II region in the north-west of Sagittarius in a star-forming region in the Milky Way's Scutum–Centaurus Arm.
  • It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1764.
  • The nebula is located approximately 9,000 light-years away from Earth.
  • It is overlain by three bands of obscuring interstellar dust, giving it a trisected appearance.
  • The Trifid Nebula is a favorite among amateur astronomers and is often photographed next to nearby emission nebulae.
