Description

The Bubble nebula is a very curious looking stellar structure, with beautiful lightness that simulates a soap bubble.  Located 7100 light years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia. The central star aptly called BD+60°2522 can be seen in the upper half of the bubble in this image. According to NASA it is a bright O-type star that produced the stellar winds that ultimately shaped the bubble nebula. The star is off center in the bubble, due to the fact that as the shell expands outwards, it pushes into denser and higher-pressure regions of gas on one side of the bubble. The bubble is approximately seven light-years wide.

Please zoom in on the bubble to see the details.
