Description

A brilliant blue pearl hidden at the center of a celestial oyster, the Iris Nebula (NGC 7023), is a reflection nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. This is one of my favorite targets as there is so much latitude to process it to better highlight and focus on different structures. I wanted to bring out as much detail as I could in the wispy nebular structures while keeping the core from blowing out, which I think I managed. I had originally processed this right after capturing the data in late October, and then went back and re-processed it all over again recently. This is the latest rendition.
