Finally getting back to M45. It was my first target when I got my first scope and mount. I only got 45 min with a DSLR and am happy to go back with better gear and a lot more experience.

Description: Reworked stretching and noise reduction. It is a subtle change and made it a little harder to pull up blue in the nebula.

Description: Amazing what another 6 hours will do. I think I'll keep going... I found EZ Decon in PI to produce a flattening and slight ringing around stars. I couldn't get it to go away even with extending masks much farther than I should need. Decided to go the "not easy" route, which was actually easy and produced MUCH better results.

Description: Trying out a new script I cobbled together to build a mask and local support for deconvolution. Seems to work well.

Description: Bunches more data! The change is not as stark as from 6h to 10h, but it's still something I notice in the nebula. Small structure details starting to resolve, things I wouldn't have considered with a lesser integration. Makes me wonder how much more detail I could get. But there's a diminishing return and I have other objects I want to capture... can always come back sometime!

Description: Added true L this time, though only 5.5 hrs so far. I want to get at least 12 hrs if I can and will process again when I am done. Just wanted to see if it was helping. Also tweaked the workflow to help pull up the dusty bits, more contract in the background. Combination of the 2 is an improvement I think.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
