Description

NGC 2403 is an intermediate spiral galaxy in Camelopardalis which is actually part of the M81 group at a distance of 8 million light years. One of the star forming regions within this galaxy, NGC 2404 is 940 light years across making it one of the largest known star forming regions to date.

This is really a 3 telescope project - Edge 8 at f7, Super C8 at f6.3 and to a lesser extent Edge 11 at f7. The Edge 8 I have has some definite optical issues (I bought it used really cheaply, so I am not surprised). About 75% of the data is from my Super C8 that I bought in 1983 when I was in high school (old scopes rule!! )

I just did not have enough good data at the end of 2022 to produce a decent image, so I added some time in 2023 before releasing anything.

The Ha data from the galaxy is full of detail, and is fun to look at on its own! (Alternate version)
