Description

20210823 - Cloudy Nights = Education time 🤩 … learning new tricks while processing ‘old’ datA

What was the experience
Earlier this year, I had taken an image of NGC 6888 (The Crescent Nebula), and subsequently one of the SADR region (containing a part of IC 1318, the Butterfly Nebula). Both to learn the processing skills, while still only having a small scope/guider. Thinking ahead, I had made sure that there would be a slight edge overlapping both images 😉, intending to make a little 2-panel mosaic from this (when I would get around to learn this 😎). Although the data on both images was different in quality, I did manage to merge them together nicely, nearly seamlessly 🧐, giving a wider look on the SADR region 🤩

What’s in the picture(s)

What have I learned from this
Plan ahead, to allow that one plus one equals more than their sum … I’ve learned from both images separately, but I’m learning a lot more from them combined 👍🤩

Clear Skies everybody! 🤩✨🔭
