Description

The Hidden Galaxy - IC 342, a spiral about 7 million light-years from Earth in Camelopardalis. It has a visual magnitude of about 9, but would gain 2.4 in magnitude and would be quite bright, were it not for Milky Way matter (it's in what's known as the Zone of Avoidance) obscuring the view.
Upper right in corner, faint smudges: UGCA 86 galaxy, believed to be a satellite of IC 342, magnitude 13.5, referred to as a Magellanic spiral or an irregular galaxy, depending on source. I believe it is classified as a dwarf galaxy.
Small galaxy in lower left corner is UGC 2826, a spiral much further away (73 million light-years), magnitude 14.
