Description

NGC 6453 is a medium-sized (7.6') and dim (10.5 Mag) globular cluster in the constellation of Scorpius. However, NGC 6543 looks smaller, since its brightest stars are no brighter than 14th Mag. The cluster is located approximately 1 kpc (~3,260 light-years) from the Galactic Center, which results in confounded view of the cluster due to many intervening clouds of cosmic dust.
The cluster is dominated by red-yellow stars. The cluster is low over horizon of Northern Skies. To get NGC 6453 picture and resolve stars in core, ASA 1000RC scope from Chilescope was used. Scope gave high resolution with FWHM=1.5-2". SNR is about 50.

Processing:
WBPP was used to integrate Lights using for calibration Darks, Flats and Bias Flats.
R, G, and B were slightly cropped.
GraExpert applied for R, G, and B. GraExpert produced noticeable effect, since Moon was in the skies.
RGB were combined.
Two approached to color calibration were used
1. SPCC-based color calibration produced reddish hue, and blue stars were eliminated (panel B).
2. Conventional color calibration produced more blue stars (panel C)
Blur and Noise XT for RGB.
Stretching required gradual application of wider and wider masks generated in GAME script. This still did not allow to fully resolve core stars.
Manual stretching for RGB was done using HT.
Noise XT, and then stretch again. This second stretching also required GAME mask to prevent oversaturation in the center.
Mask with Lum.
LHE was applied: 40 and 150 Kernes radius (setting 0.2).
Then MMT was applied for sharpening (setting 0.02-0.03).
Curve was used for star saturation adjustments.
Mask with yellow and blue were used to enhance red-yellow and blue stars, respectively.
Mask with Lum for overall star saturation.
Annotation is panel A
SPCC-based color calibration is on panel B
Conventional color calibration is main panel and is on panel C
