Description

A lot has changed since I last imaged Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) back in June. Despite some dire predictions, it survived a close encounter with the Sun and is still a spectacular sight although getting fainter. When the image was taken, the comet was about 104.7 million km from us at around magnitude 5.0.

For this image, I decided to try mono to get better colour. It's a lot of work processing, but I think it worked well! I was pleased to see the fainter "anti" tail, which is a first for me.

Clear skies!

Tony.
