Description

The Eagle Nebula, also known as the Messier 16, is a cluster of stars and an area of active star formation about 5,700 light-years from Earth in the constellation Serpens.
Is probably best known because of the iconic Pillars of Creation, famously imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope.
